Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Many of us may probably ask why Nitnem is important especially when there is very much of an importance in all types of Gurbani? The reasons are simply because Guru Sahib himself has decided it was extremely important for the Khalsa to do these Pahts for our spiritual being. Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji needed to give the Khalsa both Naam Rass as well as Bir Rass to build their spirits so they could help others and stand-up for righteousness, as well as teach the message of meeting Vaheguru. Also many people as humans would not do something unless it has been told by Guru Sahib or someone they truly trust to do it. Japji and Jaap Sahibs are related to each other as one is the start of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Mahraj and the other is the head of Dasam Granth Sahib Ji; which is written by Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Mahraj himself. The next two Nitnem banis Tav Prasad Saviaye and Chaupai Sahib are important, (in my own opinion), because they help talk about who Vaheguru is, (and that he's considered the greatest of all); Anand Sahib is important as it brings the bliss for the rest of the day, (Anand literally meaning bliss). The evening bani of Rehras Sahib helps us get the pollution from the mind we might have gotten throughout the day out. And Kirtan Sohila before sleep can bring us to only remember Vaheguru in our sleep and hopefully be the greatest assistance for Guru Sahib to bless us with Amrit Vela, (hopefully). As much as we may not understand the importance of Nitnem, we must do our best to built our Rehat with more devotion. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
